The Essentials: a journey between ceramic art and artistic perfumery

During the Milan Re-Design City, from 28th September to 10th October 2020, Silvio Levi, owner of fragrans in fabula, invites the public to discover an unusual combination of ceramic art and artistic perfumery with "Gli Essenziali", an exhibition by ceramists Andrea Salvatori and POL, curated by Irene Biolchini.
Starting from the earth, the artists create their shapes by working on classic moulds, reworked and reassembled to create an alienating final effect: classic taste opens up to unexpected contemporary elements.
"The purpose of art," says Silvio Levi, "is not really to reproduce reality but to reinterpret it by making it imaginative. This alteration of reality itself is continuously observed in master perfumers’ work and is also found in Andrea Salvatori and POL’s work, recovering objects perceived as belonging to tradition and adding their artistic intervention, making them unusual".
Earth, dust and talcum powder are primordial elements which the ceramist uses for the work he moulds with his hands. Talcum powder, musk and mineral notes are similar to these elements, used to accompany the visitor in an emotional itinerary through the three exhibitions, created in a gallery of specially selected fragrances.

The day of the finissage is Saturday 10th October 2020 from 5.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and, in compliance with the health regulations, we can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests every 30 minutes.
