Perfect oud Extrait by Mizensir: the essence of oud in a perfume

The collection of Mizensir, the brand of Alberto Morillas, the internationally renowned perfumer nose who has created some of the world's most celebrated olfactory compositions, is enriched with a new fragrance. It is a new interpretation of Perfect Oud, released in 2016, which, in its extrait version, takes up its initial inspiration, namely the charm of wood slowly burning on embers.
 
A memory that is evoked through the combination of raw materials that recreate its olfactory suggestion. Thus, Alaskan cedarwood is used, which with its mineral and leathery nuances becomes the protagonist of the fragrance, expressing at its best all its richness and magic. The addition of cardamom gives liveliness to the composition while notes of rum give it an almost alcoholic depth and further accentuate the contrast between these two extremes. On the finish floral and amber notes give a note of mystery.
 
A perfume that evokes and represents the very essence of oud while not containing it within. Almost an investigation into the raw material that results deconstructed and recreated with different elements: with this new composition, Alberto Morillas in fact “wanted to revisit this accord to push it beyond its limits, to see how far this extraordinary woody and smoky note could go.” A perfumer never stops exploring the material. For this reinterpretation, I chose more 'technical' notes, replacing, for example, rose with rose oxide or cade wood with pyrogenic incense. Like familiar objects seen in the dark. They reveal themselves with a different intensity.”
