Église de Velours the mystical side of velvet

At Fragrans in fabula, Pierre Guillaume's new fragrance, born from a perfumer's memory, awaits you. Église de Velours literally “velvet church,” evokes the smell of a haute couture Atelier.
We are in Paris in July 1997 and backstage the final preparations for a fashion show are in full swing. Rolls of precious fabrics line the walls, Napoleon III-style chairs are covered in velvet, swirls of smoke float through the air. A familiar voice, slow and fragile, breaks the silence. A model with the face of a Madonna appears from a room, accompanied by two seamstresses who help her put on the ruffles of a dress under construction.
This is the inspiration for the perfume, which aims to recreate the atmosphere that one breathes in those moments: the solemnity, recollection and fervor of those who work to shape masterpieces of cloth, as if it were a temple in which beauty in all its nuances is celebrated.

Église de Velours weaves incense and scents that mimic silk to evolve into a velvety embrace of myrrh and musks. Olibanum resin, meditative and mystical, is diverted from its purely atmospheric nature: it becomes epidermal, carnal and velvety. True to Pierre Guillaume's style, the fragrance is the subject of a silent conversation between the soul and the skin. Wearing it is like entering a church, velvet though.
