Histoires De Parfums - 1740 - Eau de Parfum
Davana, cistus and patchouli spread the woody notes' fortified depth that evoke a charismatic character, it's a dark and intoxicating seduction. The Marquis de Sade, a source of inspiration for 1740, would undoubtedly have loved its audacity.
1740 is a Parisian gentleman's year, called Donatien-Alphonse-François, whose posterity remembers as the Marquis de Sade. Considered an immoral character and author for a long time, he defended himself by writing this in a letter to his wife, in November 1783: "What has caused my misfortune is not at all my way of thinking, but that of others". For Ghislain it represents the erotic sensuality par excellence.
